Textures I`ve Played around with ...

Years ago when the world was still young, and I had all my hair, I had given to me several square..ish pieces of hardboard from the floorlays. These just came with the packing of the floortiles. So when I got home I decided to carve a relief... don`t ask why, who in there right mind would want to carve into hardboard...

The top carving is what they look like when finished, the lower "Redrust" has had it`s colour saturated and contrast added. I thought to myself what could I do to make them more interesting, so I decided to poring polyfiller into the carved bits, and add Iron and copper filings to the wet filler... then broke and old battery up and used the gunk inside brushed over the filings.

I was lucky to have a friend that offered to cast them in brass, in exchanged for a electrical job that I did for him. I used same technique on the brass ... the colours are a bit stronger than in really life, because I tweaked it a bit in Photoshop.

Here`s another picture I did around that time, where I used a little pollyfiler or plaster of paris, I don`t quite remember which it was now, after all these years

Actually... this wasn`t an artwork, it was a mask I use to try an replicate the picture below. But I liked the texture of the flamingos, so I kept it, as a reminded to maybe take it further in the future... :)

Never did quite finish this oil painting ... story of my life really ...ha
